Summer in Crested Butte

The saying “winter brings you here but the summers keep you here” couldn’t be truer!  After the snow melts this funky little ski town transforms into one of the most breathtaking places on earth.

Known as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado, summer brings with it an explosion of color as the flowers bloom all over the valley and the mountainsides turn a vibrant shade of green thanks to the groves of aspen.

Historically known for skiing, Colorado’s summers are just as special, with long days, bluebird skies, and never-ending adventures to experience.  You’ll never be at a loss to find something to do while enjoying all of the different activities available in Crested Butte.  Try your hand at hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, river rafting, paddle boarding, or horseback riding.

Truly, the sky's the limit. Both Mt. Crested Butte and the Town of Crested Butte offer free summer concert series which allow you to enjoy the long summer nights with family and friends. Whether you are searching for an adrenaline rush or just out for a stroll, the activities here in Crested Butte are endless. Not one to get out into the backcountry much? No problem! Our adorable downtown, which is officially registered as a National Historic District, has amazing restaurants and shopping! Our free town shuttle makes getting around very easy. Be sure to come visit and see all that Crested Butte has to offer.
